On the outstanding position “Karaoùla” there is a wine making complex, with a view to the small valley of Alàgni, with its special microclimate and soil characteristics. The placename “Karaoùla – Karaoùli” means hill / mound at a crucial location with a view. Indeed, the position of the complex is indeed crucial. It is a mound (at an altitude of 520m) with full visibility of the Alàgni plateau, next to the ancient road. To the south, there is a valley and a wonderful vineland. A large grape press carved on the wall, with parts of its walls carved out of the bedrock, a collection basin and another rock-carved wine press (maggana) with a small collection basin, suggest an important wine-making location, with a view to the Alàgni plateau.
